If you read my introduction post you saw that we moved a couple states South. This move was a difficult, but much needed move. God was wholeheartedly involved though, without a doubt.
In early 2016, my mother and step-dad moved down here randomly for a teaching job, which was super hard for me seeing as my mom is my best friend. Before that in middle of 2015 my best friend moved 2 hours west from my mom. Coincidence, I think not! It came to be that after a visit with both my mom and best friend, my hubby and I thought “Why don’t we move to North Carolina?”, we are young with nothing to hold us back.
Now North Carolina had always been beautiful in my eyes! Every time I would read or watch a Nicholas Sparks book/movie, which is most of the time set in North Carolina, I would think “I would love to live there!”. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would get the opportunity to actually live here! Like I mentioned before, God was definitely at work!
After a few short months of prayer and God hard at work, we finally decided to make the move. There’s a lot of factors as to why we moved, but some big ones are to save money (crazy how cheap it is to live here), live closer to my family, and to be closer to my best friend.
One of the biggest struggles I have is money management. I am truly like those memes you see on facebook where I get paid and then next thing I know I got nothing. Growing up my parents lived paycheck to paycheck and I guess that’s all I’ve had as an example. Not my parents fault of course as they were just trying to get by (and did amazing at it!), but it has now reflected how I handle my money. This move is sorta like a reset for us and we pray that it helps.
The other reasons are obvious. I have always felt friends and family are important to me and seeing as I don’t have much family, I want to cherish the ones I have. My grandparents now live 8 ½ hours from e, which is wonderful because their health is declining and I would love to help them out. My aunt and uncle live 5 ½ hrs away and I haven’t seen them or my cousins since Christmas of 2008! Being able to be closer to them was another obvious sign from God!
Most of my husband’s family though live in Maryland, as are a lot of our friends, which has made this the hardest move for us. Fortunately our faith in God and knowing He will provide has been a stronghold for us.
In the next blog, I will get right into it with my struggle with PCOS!
